Overview
Skip the long drive. You fly from Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam to Arusha and in three days cover Tarangire, with its large elephant herds and baobab trees, Lake Manyara, with its groundwater forest, flamingos and tree-climbing lions, and the Ngorongoro Crater.
The crater floor has one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa and is one of the best places to try to see the Big Five in a single day. A 4x4 and guide take you through all three parks.

Day 1: Flight to Arusha and Tarangire
Morning flight to Arusha, drive to Tarangire for a game drive with a picnic lunch, overnight near Lake Manyara or Karatu.
Day 2: Lake Manyara
Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, picnic lunch, afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater and flight back
Full crater tour with a picnic lunch, then drive to Arusha for the afternoon flight.
