Overview
A five-day holiday based on the north or east coast. Day two packs in a spice farm, a walking tour of Stone Town and a boat trip to Prison Island. Then you have a full beach day, followed by a half-day snorkeling trip to Mnemba Atoll before your last day.
You stay on the north or east coast. Nungwi and Kendwa in the north are known for swimming at most states of the tide and for their sunsets, while Kiwengwa, Pwani Mchangani and Matemwe on the east coast have long white beaches close to Mnemba Atoll.
Highlights
- Spice Tour: See, smell and taste spices and tropical fruit on a spice farm.
- Stone Town City Tour: Guided walk through the UNESCO-listed old town: the former slave market site, the market, the House of Wonders, the Old Fort and the Palace Museum.
- Prison Island: About 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town to see the giant tortoises, with time to swim and snorkel.
- Mnemba Atoll Snorkeling (half day): Shared boat from Matemwe to snorkel Mnemba's coral, then fruit, soft drinks and beach time.

Day 1: Arrival
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel on the north or east coast.
Day 2: Spice farm, Stone Town and Prison Island
Spice tour in the morning, Stone Town walking tour, lunch in Stone Town (not included), then the boat to Prison Island.
Day 3: Beach day
A free day on the beach or at your hotel.
Day 4: Mnemba Atoll snorkeling
Transfer to Matemwe and a shared boat to snorkel Mnemba's reefs, then fruit, soft drinks and beach time before returning to your hotel.
Day 5: Departure
Leisure until your transfer to the airport.
