Overview
The day starts on a spice farm, where you walk the garden with a guide and harvest herbs, vegetables and spices such as cloves, cinnamon, lemongrass, ginger and turmeric, learning how each is used.
Then you move to an outdoor kitchen with charcoal stoves, clay pots and coconut graters, and cook a Swahili meal from scratch: dishes such as pilau, coconut vegetable curry and chapati. What you cook is your lunch, and you leave with the recipes.
