Overview

Safari Blue Zanzibar is a full day at sea in Menai Bay, on the south-west coast of the island.

Safari Blue is one of Zanzibar's best-known sea days. You sail from Fumba on a traditional wooden dhow into the Menai Bay Conservation Area, stopping at sandbanks and coral reefs for swimming and snorkeling.

On Kwale Island you can climb an old baobab tree and, at high tide, swim into the mangrove lagoon. Lunch is seafood from the grill with fresh fruit, and you sail back to Fumba in the late afternoon. Dolphins are sometimes seen in the bay.

Pickup and drive to Fumba

Your driver takes you to Fumba on the south-west coast.

Sail and snorkel

Board the dhow, sail into Menai Bay and snorkel the reefs.

Sandbank and Kwale Island

Swim from a sandbank, visit the baobab tree and the mangrove lagoon.

Seafood lunch

Grilled seafood and fresh fruit on the island.

Sail back
